🎄An UN-Ironic Holiday Single!🎄
Yes, you read that right. If you know me, you know holiday music is not really my thing. The only other “festive” tune I’ve put out, Snaggle’s “Christmas Tune”, was a temperamental pushback against the clichés of commercial Christmas music… and one that ruffled a few feathers (it drew some HILARIOUS Nazi comparisons from an offended elderly couple).
So how did this new single come to life? During the recording of my solo piano double album “Can You Hear Me?” (2021, Browntasauras Records), my producer, Brownman Ali, threw me a surprise: the lead sheet for “Christmas Time Is Here”. This Vince Guaraldi classic is holiday music at its finest: soulful, nuanced, and anything but cheesy. So, I decided to lean in and record an entirely spontaneous take - no plan, just pure improvisation in the moment. I hope you enjoy my take on this timeless piece!
